BabyDriver is a 2017 action, thriller film written and directed by Edgar Wright. The movie stars Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Eiza González, Jamie Foxx, and Jon Bernthal who appeared in supporting roles. Its running time is 1hr53mins.
The film tells a story of a talented young getaway driver who relies on his soundtrack to beat the competition. He must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love life, and freedom after he was forced to work for a crime boss.
The baby driver was premiered at the South by Southwest festival on the 11th of March and in the united kingdom on 28th June 2017. The media accepted it well for its craftsmanship and style. The screenwriting and characterization occasionally drew criticism though.
It was selected by the national board of review as one of the top films of the year. It was nominated for numerous awards including the three Academy Awards. Two BAFTA Film awards as the best in editing, Two Critics Choice Awards as the best in Editing. It won a golden globe award and also won several other awards mostly for its technical achievement.
